Image-ination Photo Contest Winner, Jared Zimmerman, at the 2010 NMF Conferenc

Over 90 teens attended the 2010 NMF Conference in Houston, Texas. On Friday, July 9th, 2010, the teen group was challenged by the NMF and Positive Exposure, a non-profit organization that “challenges the stigma associated with difference by celebrating the beauty and richness of human diversity" to take photos of each other throughout the Conference weekend which captured the beauty and richness of Marfan syndrome and related disorders to submit to the Image-ination Photo Contest.

The goal of the Image-ination Photo Contest was to:

• challenge the stigma associated with difference by celebrating the beauty and richness of human diversity, particularly for teens living with Marfan syndrome and related disorders,
• promote positive self image and body image, and
• raise awareness of Marfan syndrome and related disorders through photo images.

Fifteen teens entered the Image-ination Photo Contest, 197 people from the Marfan and related disorders community voted, and we have a winner. The winner is Jared Zimmerman!  Jared submitted entry #6, Gotta Have Heart, which received a wopping 87 votes.

In 2nd place is Ginger Morgan who received 41 votes for her entry, entry #3, Together We Can Reach New Heights.

In 3rd place is Kari LeAnn Netwon who received 19 votes for her entry, entry #9, Andrew Praying Behind His Back.
