My name is Marybeth Geronimo, and I am mom to Michael, age 19. He was diagnosed with Marfan Syndrome at age 6, in large part due to Karen Murray and her appearance on the Today show one Saturday morning in February, 1998. We had already been treating scoliosis for three years, but no one could tell me why a three year old got scoliosis. Eight months and several appointments later, we had our suspicions confirmed. Today, Michael is a wonderful young man who is studying to become a children's physical therapist.
Our group is still in its "infancy" stage. We look forward to working to create awareness for Marfan Syndrome, to provide a strong community support group and, of course, to raise money for the National Marfan Foundation. |

Description of the Group
The NMF Northeast Florida Support Group is a local meeting of the National Marfan Foundation that serves members in the area by providing connections with peers, education on Marfan Syndrome and related disorders, support for affected individuals and their family members, as well as ways to reach out and improve awareness in the community. We also do fundraising to support NMF programs which, in turn, serve our members.
Meeting Location
Meetings will be held quarterly until we have a need to meet more frequently, or for a special function or occasion. Since we cover such a large geographic area, we will try our best to hold our meeting at a rotating central location. We will notify you at least 3-4 weeks prior to each meeting.

The Northeast Florida Support Group is working with the other Florida area groups to create a "Medical Resource Directory". But, we need your help! Please click here and complete the form for each doctor who treats you for Marfan related issues. Your information will not be published, and we are not asking for any information about your condition.
