Professional & Scientific Advisory Boards and Clinical Council The National Marfan Foundation is advised by two boards-- the Professional Advisory Board and the Scientific Advisory Board. The Professional Advisory Board (PAB) is composed of experts in the field of Marfan syndrome and related connective tissue disorders who provide the foundation with professional expertise, up-to-date medical information and guidance concerning the diagnosis and management of the Marfan syndrome and related disorders. In addition, they advise the NMF about research opportunities and priorities. The Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) is composed of experts in the field of medical and scientific research and serves solely one purpose, to evaluate and critique the proposals received through our research grant program. The NMF Clinical Council is a new affiliation to bring together a network of doctors and allied health professionals to focus on improved diagnosis and clinical care of Marfan patients and to further promote the mission of the NMF through medical education and public awareness utilizing NMF key messages as described in the NMF Clinical Council Charter.
