Meet Our Network Group Leader

Rene Jones started the NH/VT Network Group in fall 2008, after moving to Merrimack, NH from Andover, Maine.  She is the mother of three children, one of whom is affected by Marfan syndrome.  Her son Drew has built awareness by sharing his background with peers at school, and her daughter Lauren Barletta has served on the board of the Massachusetts Chapter.

Description of the Group

The NH/VT Marfan Network Group is a local meeting of the National Marfan Foundation that serves members in New Hampshire and Vermont by providing connections with peers, education on the Marfan syndrome and related disorders, support for affected individuals and their family members, as well as ways to reach out and improve awareness in the community. We also do fundraising to support NMF programs that in turn serve our members. Our greatest concentration of members is in southern NH, but we are committed to finding regular ways to connect with members throughout the two states, including rotating meeting locations and fostering online communications.

Meeting Locations

New Hampshire and Vermont Network Group meetings rotate locations throughout the year.  The annual Northern New England Symposium on Marfan Syndrome and Related Disorders is held at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.  Click here for driving directions to DHMC-Lebanon.

Thank you to everyone who made the 1st Annual New England Regional Symposium on Marfan Syndrome & Related Disorders on May 8, 2010 such a success.  This event would have not been possible without such hard work from the organizing committee and support from conference co-hosts Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth. 

We encourage mail registration in advance for the October 2, 2011 Northern New England Symposium on Marfan Syndrome and Related Disorders, but limited space is expected to be available for on-site registration.  Please print your registration form here.  Free on-site child care for children 5-12 years old must be arranged in advance by contacting Rene Jones at (603) 769-1263 or coordinator@nhvtmarfan.org.
