Meet our Network Group Leader
Sheila Shawen. I live in Kettering, Ohio, with my husband, Gregg, and our two teenaged sons, Dayton and Oliver. Having led a National Marfan Foundation support group in Memphis, Tennessee since 1995, I was happy to help start the Dayton Area NMF Network Group when we moved here in 2004.
Dayton was diagnosed at three years old with Marfan Syndrome, and Oliver was suspected of having Marfan Syndrome for many years. Gregg, and I have felt so blessed to be able to rely on the National Marfan Foundation for information and support.
The National Marfan Foundation continues to be so helpful to us - in personal and practical ways, and in the hope for a better future through the NMF's funding of ongoing research. Being a part of such a giving organization is a gift in itself.

Rita and Sandy Eisman volunteered at the NMF booth at the Clark State College Health Fair in Springfield, OH, on Wednesday, April 16, 2008. This is an annual event for Rita and Sandy, and it is a great way to spread the word about Marfan syndrome.
