We will provide a clinic directory, physician directory and Emergency Medicine Plan packet.  We also will have several samples of ID bracelets, flash drives and chains, so that we can decide which is best for you.

Speed 4 Needs: Iron DogŪ Racing in Alaska

John Witte, of Anchorage Alaska, and his team are participating in the 2012 Iron Dog®, the “world’s longest and toughest snowmobile race” beginning on February 17th in Big Lake, Alaska.  It is a 1,000 mile multi-day event.  John and his team have organized Speed 4 Needs to raise funds for four charities, including the National Marfan Foundation, in honor of John’s daughter, Andrea, who has Marfan syndrome.

Tidewater Network Group Meeting

Please join us for the next meeting of NMF members in the Tidewater area.  Our guest speaker will be Gretchen Oswald, M.S., CGC.  Miss Oswald is the genetics counselor at Johns Hopkins for connective tissue disorders, with a storied background in Marfan and Loeys-Dietz syndromes.  She serves on the board of the LDS Foundation (which she co-founded) as well as on the board of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Marfan Foundation.  She can address the latest diagnostic criteria and techniques, as well as the differences between the various connective tissue disorders.  Bring your questions!

Evenings with Genetics is a seminar series about genetics and your family’s health. This series offers the most current information on care and research for many genetic conditions and is open to the public.

 

Our goal is to highlight the advances in genetic research as well as encourage networking within our community. The seminars are sponsored by the Department of Molecular and Human Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children Hospital.
