Back to Chapter and Network Home Page Network Group Mission The mission of the Atlanta Area Network Group of the National Marfan Foundation is to serve the regional Marfan population by providing peer connections for those affected with Marfan syndrome and related connective tissue disorders, support for family members and friends of those affected, provide on Marfan syndrome and related disorders, as well as active participation in community outreach and awareness projects on behalf of our member, Marfan syndrome, and the National Marfan Foundation as a whole. The Atlanta Area Network Group was founded in April, 2007 by Kate and Adam Kauffman, NMF members dedicated to providing a local point of contact for people dealing with Marfan syndrome and related disorders and to strengthen the Marfan community. Members of the NMF staff attended this meeting and gave an orientation to the opportunities the Network Group offers for education, outreach, awareness and fundraising. Members hail from all over the metro area and every age range is represented. We typically have 25-35 members attending each meeting with social time afterward. Join Us! Recent Meetings included: Saturday, December 8 at 11:00 a.m. - Atlanta Area Network Group Meeting and Networking Lunch at the Kauffman's residence (Lenox/Phipps Malls), to discuss project updates and initiatives for the Spring. There was an optional pot luck lunch following the meeting for those who wished to stay and chat.
